Marlene Dumas is one of the most influential painters in contemporary art. She confronts and seduces us with her expressive figurative motifs. Taking on the role of curator for the first time, she presents us with Edvard Munch's art in dialogue with her own works.

The travelling exhibition "Modernisme and Flowers. From Nature to Architecture" focuses on how the decorative arts of Modernisme represented plants and flowers when used in construction. An exhibition is for the first time establishing a dialogue between the world of plants and Modernista architecture. The exhibition discourse has been divided into four areas. The first explains the creative process of artists when "capturing" the images of flowers. The second involves a journey through eight applied arts fields in architecture and their respective creation processes: ceramics, mosaics, ironwork, stonework, stucco, hydraulic mosaics, stained glass and plasterwork. The third offers an exhibition tour of flowers and plants that recreate a huge timeless garden. The exhibition concludes by looking at the difficulty of preserving the applied arts in construction.

The exhibition curators are Fatima López and Marta Saliné, both PhDs in Art History and members of the GRACMON research group at the University of Barcelona.

The exhibition "Toulouse-Lautrec and the Spirit of Montmartre" focuses on the artist's career during his time in Montmartre. A period in his life that he shared with Bohemian and Avant-Garde inspired artists and one that reflects a key moment in the development of modern art.

Art Nouveau was a very significant period for the creation of wallpaper and fabrics. Inside Art Nouveau buildings, both Victor Horta and his contemporaries gave meaning to the concept of total art and revolutionised the applied arts, abolishing the hierarchy between different forms of plastic art. Original motifs, complex craftwork... the exhibition restores this fragile heritage to the place it deserves in the history of forms.

2018 is the centenary of Egon Schiele's death (1890 - 1918). Marking this occasion, the Belvedere is showing its collection of Schiele paintings with highlights including Eduard Kosmack, Façade of a House, Death and Maiden, Embrace, and Four Trees. Visitors can look forward to an outstanding presentation shedding light on the full extent of the Schiele collection once housed at the Belvedere.

The Institut Mathindenhöhe Darmstadt celebrates the 150th birthday of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig of Hesse and Rhine with an exhibition in the Ernst Ludwig House, today's Artist's Colony Museum. The exhibition will feature the creative work of the multi-talented Grand Duke. This first-of-its-kind exhibition will present a multifaceted compilation of the grand Duke's poems, musical compositions, theatre plays, expressive watercolours, philanthropic projects, as well as public relations activities. Thus the exhibition will illustrate the often-quoted guiding principal of Ernst Ludwig: "Have reverence for the past and courage to freshly dare the new".

The Maricel Museum presents the central exhibition of the centenary of the Maricel. It is a portrait of the process of design and construction of a singular building, which at the time of its inauguration caused a significant impact in the cultural circles of Catalonia.

Elza Kastl Obereigner was born in Ljubljana on 26 April 1884. Although, generally best known for her portraits, in Ljubljana she was known as the "the last Slovenian miniaturist".  The temporary exhibition on show at the City Museum of Ljubljana is presenting her oeuvre in sculpture.
