La Pedrera presents the exhibition "The Nabis: Prophets of a New Art- 1888-1900" . It is the first show in Catalonia devoted solely to the Nabis, a highly influential group in French art at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Displaying over 200 works, the exhibition shows the Nabis' diversity and creativity, and how the movement evolved from Post-Impressionism towards Symbolism, while maintaining strong links to Art Nouveau, and eventually blazing the trail for the twentieth century's early avant-gardes. Curated by art historian Isabelle Cahn, honorary painting curator at the Musée d'Orsay, which is co-organising the show.
