The exhibition "Ramon Pichot. From Els Quatre Gats to La Maison Rose" displays Pichot´s evolution from his initial Modernisme to the decorativism of the early 20th century. Pichot´s work is especially characterised by the treatment and predominance of colour. Three places would come to mark him throughout his career as an artist: Barcelona, Paris and Cadaqués, and in terms of subject matter he would alternate between genre scenes, portraits, the landscape of Cadaqués and Hispanic regionalism.

The MAPFRE Foundation in Barcelona presents one of the icons of art from the 'fin de siècle' period, The Gates of Hell by Auguste Rodin. This installation brings together a hundred sculptures and around thirty drawings, that have only been shown on rare occasions, plus various mock-ups and models that give an insight into the creative process of the sculptor and the evolution that the Gates were subjected to over the years. Considered the central work of the French sculptor?s career, who spent more than twenty years working on it. This monumental piece offers a spectacular view of hell, frenzied and tempestuous, yet also sensual and evocative.

In the years around 1900, the multi-ethnic realm of the Habsburg Monarchy experienced a lively exchange of art and culture between Vienna, its center, and the main cities of the Crown lands such as Zagreb. For the development of Croatian art around the turn of the century, this exchange was very significant. In the exhibition, the connections and points of reference at the start of the twentieth century are presented by key works of Austrian and Croatian artists of that period.
