L'art nouveau, un style ? Plutôt un état d'esprit, et une foi insatiable dans la modernité.

Pour sa première exposition, la Maison Hannon souhaite présenter l'art nouveau dans sa pluralité, au travers d'oeuvres majeures, issues des plus grandes collections d'art belge.

L'exposition montre les multiples facettes de la période de l'Art nouveau et le développement ultérieur des arts décoratifs internationaux jusqu'aux années 1930, en mettant l'accent sur l'Art déco et le Bauhaus.

Comprendre Horta de l'intérieur en sortant des sentiers battus. Tel est l'objectif de cette exposition : comprendre son expression, son vocabulaire hors de toutes idées préconçues...

"Stars, Feathers, Tassels: The Wiener Werkstätte Artist Felice Rix-Ueno (1893-1967)" is a solo exhibition organized by the MAK Museum to commemorate the 130th birth of the artist. The presentation, with 200 objects, presents a broad cross section of her oeuvre.

With her highly poetic, independent style, Felice Rix-Ueno established herself as one of the most remarkable artists of the Wiener Werkstätte (WW). She produced hundreds of design drawings for the WW, primarily for fabric patterns but also for wallpapers, embroideries, works in enamel, fashion and home accessories, toys, and commercial graphic design. In her second home of Japan, she found success as a university professor and founded her own design institute.

Naturally flowing lines, ingeniously curved shapes and an exuberant wealth of floral, figurative and abstract ornamentation - these are the distinguishing characteristics of Art Nouveau, the French and Belgian version of Jugendstil. France and Belgium played a major role in the upheaval of European art and design around 1900, which paved the way for modernism. Paris in particular exerted an enormous magnetic attraction: Architects such as Hector Guimard and Eugène Gaillard worked here; poster designers such as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Alfons Mucha revolutionized graphic design.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Bröhan-Museum, this extensive exhibition is dedicated to one of the museum's focal points - French and Belgian Art Nouveau. With great playfulness and especially floral ornamentation, the Art Nouveau artists in cities such as Brussels, Paris and Nancy created a new design for the Belle Époque, which soon captivated the whole of Europe. With outstanding pieces from national and international private collections, the Bröhan-Museum is bringing the glory of this era back to life. Some of the items on loan are being shown to the public for the first time.

This exclusive exhibition of René Lalique drawings also includes a selection of René Lalique jewels. A La Vieille Russie's collection of Fabergé drawings are also on view, alongside a selection of corresponding pieces.

Both Lalique and Fabergé exhibited at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, each receiving top honours.

Avec cette exposition de grande envergure, le Musée Leopold souhaite apporter un éclairage nouveau sur l'oeuvre éminente et novatrice de Max Oppenheimer, injustement oubliée, et explorer la richesse des motifs de ses œuvres. De plus, la présentation examine le rôle de l'artiste et ses réseaux à travers ses contemporains Oskar Kokoschka et Egon Schiele.

After extensive research, Gustav Klimt's portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer II, 1912-1913, is presented in a special exhibition.

Adele Bloch-Bauer II is back in Vienna to undergo scientific analysis and restoration in the Belvedere's workshops. Until February 2024, this occasion presents a unique opportunity to witness this outstanding privately owned late work by Gustav Klimt in its original form and gain insight into the artist's painting technique, thanks to current research findings.

L'exposition raconte l'histoire d'Edvard Munch et de Berlin illustrée par environ 80 œuvres : Peintures, gravures et photographies.

Par la modernité radicale de ses peintures, Edvard Munch (1863-1944) défie ses contemporains, notamment à Berlin, où le symboliste norvégien exerce une grande influence sur la scène artistique du tournant du siècle.

The show features highlights from the museum's extensive collection of Austrian art from the period 1890 to 1940. Neue Galerie New York is the result of the close thirty-year friendship shared between art dealer and museum exhibition organizer Serge Sabarsky and Ronald S. Lauder, the museum's co-founder and President. They spent countless hours together discussing Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, and Oskar Kokoschka. In the decade before Sabarsky died, they dreamed of creating a museum of Austrian and German art, and the Neue Galerie New York is the outcome of this shared passion.

La Maison Autrique présente l'œuvre et la vie de Privat Livemont, artiste bruxellois emblématique de l'Art nouveau. Artiste complet et polyvalent, artisan, enseignant à l'Académie de dessin et d'industrie de Schaerbeek... Livemont semble avoir été un travailleur infatigable. Il est surtout reconnu pour ses affiches et les sgraffites présents sur de nombreuses façades à Bruxelles.

Cette exposition présente des installations florales commandées à des designers floraux locaux, en dialogue avec des eouvres de Louis Comfort Tiffany et des studios Tiffany. L'exposition est organisée par Elizabeth Cronin, propriétaire du jardin Asrai de Chicago - mieux connue comme l'un des juges de l'émission de quiz Max de HBO "Full Bloom" - qui a sélectionné à la fois les designers floraux participants et les objets Tiffany exposés.

À l'occasion de l'événement " Art Nouveau Brussels 2023 ", la Fondation Roi Baudouin présente des chefs-d'oeuvre de sa collection. Pièces majeures ou objets usuels, chaque oeuvre recèle une histoire ou une anecdote particulière, à découvrir lors de cette exposition gratuite.
